The Sherwood Forest Archaeology Project has many fantastic ways of involving the public in the the Archaeology and History of Sherwood Forest.
Perhaps the most innovative form of outreach created for the Sherwood Forest Archaeology Project wass through the Sherwood Forest Bus Tour onboard a 1960’s vintage Routemaster London Bus!
Mercian worked with Cultural Heritage to deliver Sherwood Forest Bus Tours for a number of years.

There were both Public Tours and Private Group tours, and engaged hundreds of people from all around the world in the history, archaeology, and legends of Sherwood Forest.
