Payments

Payment in FULL includes the non-refundable deposit.

In the event of cancellation the deposit is non-refundable in all cases.

Payment in FULL is required 12 weeks before the date you are due to commence your fieldschool.

If participants cancel attendance less than 30 days prior to the commencement of the fieldschool we unfortunately cannot pay a refund, as there will be no time to offer the place to another delegate.

Please contact us before booking if there are questions regarding payment times.

Accommodation, flights, travel

Mercian are not responsible for any travel and accommodation booked alongside attending the fieldschool. We do not recommend accommodation for this reason. We recommend anyone attending from overseas takes out appropriate travel insurance to cover any eventualities surrounding travel and accommodation.

Mercian’s insurance policy extends to cover fieldwork and attendance on site.

Field School Cancellation Policy

In the unlikely event of the site of King John’s Palace being unavailable (due to actions outside of Mercian’s control) Mercian will move the fieldschool to a neighbouring site within the Sherwood Forest Archaeology Project. All aspects of the taught course and all experience listed as part of the fieldschool would be still be delivered. In such an event delegates will have a chance to opt for a refund but this would not include the non-refundable deposit. (In the event of a delegate choosing not to attend due to changes in site location, where accommodation/travel has been booked (as outlined above) this would need to be covered through travel insurance- especially when visiting from abroad).

Code of Conduct

Due to the physical nature of the work done while on site, all field workers are advised take out travel insurance, as they would when booking a holiday.
